 2. Sentence patterns

1)原句:Like a shot, the music woke Sandy.L.1

    音乐像枪声似的将桑迪吵醒。

句型提炼:Like sb. / sth. else(who/which…), sb. / sth. is / does …

像另一人/物(……)那样,某人/……

应用: 他们告诉他这消息时,他像孩子一样哭了。

            He cried like a baby when they told him the news.

和我在大街上见过的许多人一样,他从事着平凡的工作,但是却对我们的社会做着不平凡的贡献。

Like many people I’ve come across in the street, he does a usual job, but makes unusual contribution to our society.

2)原句: Why do you have to listen to such horrible stuff? (L.5)

        你为什么一定要听这么糟糕的音乐?

why don’t you sit down and eat your breakfast? (L.31)

句型提炼:Why does sb. have to do sth.?Why doesn’t sb. do sth.?

某人为什么非得要做某事?/ 某人为什么不做某事?

应用:既然你们是好朋友,为什么你自己不去问他呢?

Since you are good friends, why don’t you ask him yourself ?

你咳嗽这么厉害,为什么每天非得要抽烟呢?

3)原句:Turn that radio down so your mother and I can’t hear it. (L.12)

句型提炼:Do (Don’t do) sth. so / or you / sb. will /can(not) …
